The Oceanside, N.Y.-based distributor and repacker has opened a 50,000-square-foot distribution center in Hyattsville, Md., in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

New York distributor expanding to Washington, D.C.“Our truck fleet provides services for restaurants from Boston to Virginia,” Bob Fitzsimmons, Food Authority’s chief executive officer, said in the release. “We’ve had a presence in this market for more than 20 years, so it was a natural move to begin operating from here too.”
