Braga Ranch and ASA Organics began marketing their vegetables this fall under three new labels.
Soledad, Calif.-based Braga Fresh Family Farms, the companies’ new sales organization, packs and ships organics under the Josie’s Organics label and conventional products under the Fresh n Healthy and Golden State Broccoli labels.
The organics label, launched at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in October, is named for Josie Braga, grandmother of Braga Ranch president and chief executive officer Rod Braga.
ASA Organics, a Braga company, supplies the Josie’s Organics label. It includes more than 20 commodities grown in California and Arizona. Among them are sweet baby broccoli, kale, chard, cilantro, parsley, celery and leaf lettuce.
Both operations continue to grow and pack for other shippers and processors on most of their 12,000 acres, as they did before the new marketing effort.
Braga Ranch grows for the Golden State Broccoli and Fresh n Healthy labels. Golden State Broccoli is distributed in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. Fresh n Healthy products include herbs, broccoli and kale distributed domestically and internationally.

Salinas, Calif.-based Moxxy Marketing designed the Braga Fresh Family Farms website plus four logos and other items, including packaging materials like resealable bags, wrap bags, twist ties, elastic tags and hang tags.
Braga has been expanding production land and plans to continue to do so to supply increasing demand from their established customers — other shippers and processors — plus their new retail clients.
Besides the Salinas Valley, Braga Ranch grows in California’s Imperial Valley and the Yuma, Ariz., area.
