SiraneSiraneSirane, based in Telford, Shropshire, United Kingdom, has introduced a new product, Dri-fresh Soft-hold fruit cushioning pads that work for all types of soft fruit, according to a company news release.

The surface of the pad has a tear-drop embossing pattern that raises the fruit from the surface to encourage air-flow and prevent sweating and fungal growth. The pattern is designed to minimize the contact area between each berry and the surface and absorbs and traps leakage from the fruit.

Antifungal options are also available that help extend the shelf life of the fruit.

The product is available as a loose pad of any size as well as reels for automatic packaging operations.

It will reduce waste and transit costs, open new export markets and encourage sales growth for all types of soft fruit, according to the news release.

The product will join a list of Sirane products for transporting and selling fresh produce, including Dri-fresh Resolve, Dri-Fresh-Hold and Sira-Flex Resolve.
