New vice president at Church Bros.

McDonaldChurch Bros. LLC and True Leaf Farms have named Drew McDonald vice president of quality, food safety and regulatory affairs.

McDonald succeeds Courtney Parker at Salinas, Calif.-based grower-shipper Church Bros. and its processing arm, True Leaf Farms. Parker joined Chiquita Brands International Inc. in August as vice president of food safety and quality.

McDonald has also become department head of all quality and food safety for Church Bros. and True Leaf Farms, said Ernst Van Eeghen, director of marketing and product development.

McDonald comes to the company from Highland Park, Ill.-based Danaco Solutions LLC, where he was senior vice president of food safety and quality. Danaco has a Salinas offices. Earlier he was vice president of national quality systems for Taylor Fresh Foods for 10 years. Other experience included a stint at Dole Fresh Vegetables.

He serves on a range of food safety-related technical committees and has helped author produce food safety guidelines. McDonald has more than 18 years of experience in fresh-cut produce and fresh food operations and has worked with multiple buyers and suppliers to develop and manage quality and food safety programs.
