Jordan Cohn joins Stanley Orchards Sales Inc. as the fourth generation to work in the family-owned importer and exporter of apples, pears and grapes.
Before joining the Moderna, N.Y.-based Stanley Orchards full-time in March, Cohn worked in quality control and sales for Frusan in San Fernando, Chile, and later with Paramount Export Co. in Oakland, Calif.
At Stanley Orchards, Cohn works in sales with his father, Ron Cohn, chief executive officer.
“(After) a couple of trips down to Chile where we sourced fruit, I found I enjoyed it,” Cohn said. “Once I have a full year under my belt (here), I will have a solid and well-defined position in the company.”
The industry is expecting large fall domestic apple and pear crops, and Cohn said he plans to focus more on domestic sales and explore new export possibilities after selling part of the company’s import deal.
