Nine high school graduates in table grape growing regions in San Joaquin and Coachella valleys of California earned scholarships on behalf of California’s table grape growers.
Five scholarships went to children of table grape growers; three of those scholarships were for $20,000 to be use at four-year universities and two were $3,500 to two-year colleges. The $20,000 scholarships were awarded to Vanessa Serrato Meza, Diana Valenzuela and Lissette Garcia. The two remaining scholarships were given to Estefani Hernandez Domingez and Mario Lozano.
The other four scholarships went to students planning on pursuing majors in agriculture-related fields. All four of those scholarships were $20,000 to be used at four-year universities. The scholarships were awarded to John Ball, Adilene Gonzalez, Julia Reese and Cristiano Alves.
