Seed giant Nunhems USA held its 29th annual Onion Showcase in Roswell, Idaho, Aug. 29.

Almost 400 local and regional growers, as well as industry specialists from around the world, attended the event, according to a news release from Parma, Idaho-based Nunhems, the operating name of Monheim, Germany-based Bayer CropScience.

Among the highlights of the showcase was a 20th anniversary celebration of the vaquero, a long-day variety popular in Idaho and Eastern Oregon’s Treasure Valley.

Also at the event, Nunhems donated $2,500 each to the Snake River and Western Idaho Future Farmers of America districts.
