Karen Franck, Farm to Family food resource manager, presented a plaque to Ocean Mist chief operating officer Joe Pezzini, in Castroville, Calif., where the company is based.

Locally, Ocean Mist Farms is known for its efforts on behalf of Salinas-based Ag Against Hunger. But the grower-shipper has also supported the efforts of food banks in California’s urban areas and statewide.

Farm to Family was a pilot program in 2010 when Ocean Mist and Pacific International Marketing partnered with the association and Tampa, Fla.-based IFCO Systems, which provided reusable plastic containers.
