Ocean Mist Farms plans to debut four products at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit as the grower-shipper completes its 90th anniversary year celebration.
Castroville, Calif.-based Ocean Mist will show lacinato kale, sweet baby broccoli, Heirloom artichokes and Kalettes at the trade event Oct. 17-19 in Anaheim.
Ocean Mist also plans to showcase a Food & Wine magazine story on its artichokes that features owner Troy Boutonnet and the company’s relationship with Montrio Bistro chef Tony Baker. The California Grown program sponsored the story.
“This was an incredible opportunity for us to educate their readers about Ocean Mist Farms’ Heirloom artichokes,” Kori Tuggle, director of marketing and business development, said in a news release.
Arti the Artichoke, the grower-shipper’s mascot, will help open the event with an appearance at the finish line of the Tour de Fresh cycling fundraiser at noon Oct. 16.
“Our annual participation in Fresh Summit is something we plan for year-round as it is a unique opportunity to interact with our customers,” Joe Feldman, vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release.
