Ocean Mist Farms, Castroville, Calif., will host an artichoke field tour as part of the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Produce Academy during the group’s annual foodservice conference.
The tour will be in Monterey, Calif., on July 20, according to a news release.
The tour will include a visit to a beach-side artichoke field, company headquarters, a cooling facility and a cooking demonstration by chef Tony Baker, according to the release.
Baker will be featured on Saturday in the chef demo challenge, according to the release.
The challenge is where participating chefs compete to create healthy and flavorful menus for kids.
During the challenge, Baker will demonstrate the preparation of an artichoke veggie burger with chipotle lime mayo and arti-guac.
Baker won the chef demo challenge last year and his recipe was added to a cookbook produced after the conference.
This is the second annual live demo.
