UPDATED: Ontario produce transportation veteran dies

(UPDATED COVERAGE, May 22) Keith Watterworth, 66, died May 8 at his home in Leamington, Ontario. He worked for greenhouse grower Mucci Farms, Kingsville, Ontario, as inbound logistics manager for the last six years.

Keith WatterworthWatterworthColleagues at Mucci remember Watterworth as a dedicated father and grandfather and a respected professional, said Emily Murracas, marketing coordinator. She said Mucci officials plan to plant a tree in Watterworth’s memory at their new corporate headquarters in Kingsville.

Before joining Mucci, Watterworth worked in the produce industry, mostly in transportation and logistics, for more than 20 years, Murracas said. During his career he worked for M Pearce Trucking Ltd., Leamington, Sun-Brite Foods Inc., Ruthven, Ontario, and Clifford Produce Sales Inc., Leamington.

Survivors include children Byron Watterworth, Lesley Watterworth and Kim Sauve; sister Miriam Tiessen; and brother Glenn (Lynn) Watterworth.

The funeral was May 11 at Reid Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Canadian Cancer society. Online condolences can be shared at www.reidfuneralhome.ca.
