The Oppenheimer Group is now providing avocado ripening services to customers in the Eastern U.S. and Eastern Canada.
Kennett Square, Pa.-based Manfredi Cold Storage will manage Oppenheimer’s ripening program for avocados destined for eastern markets, according to a news release from the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company.
Oppenheimer began providing ripening services for its customers in the Western U.S. and Western Canada in 2010.
“Our year-round avocado program is still quite young, but it has reached the point where pre-conditioned offerings are necessary to take it to the next level,” James Milne, Oppenheimer’s avocado category director, said in the release.
Oppenheimer began marketing hass avocados from Mexican producer Mevi two years ago, giving the company a 12-month program for the first time.
