Vancouver-based The Oppenheimer Group has named Christopher Dyer business development representative at its Houston sales office.
Dyer, who joined the marketer and distributor in February, will create supply programs and handle promotions for fresh fruits and vegetables with Oppy’s retail and wholesale customers in the south central states, according to a news release.
He started at Oppy by doing retail demonstrations of Enza Pacific Rose apples with grower George Allan of Allan Bros. Fruit, Naches, Wash.
Dyer comes to the company from Premier Melon Co. Inc., Schoolcraft, Mich., and Ellenton, Ga., where he was a seasonal field coordinator. He monitored inventory, quality and logistics for watermelons and pumpkins.
Earlier, he participated in the School of Retail Leadership at H.E. Butt Grocery Co. Dyer rotated through store departments, learning retail operations and product merchandising.
