Nate Lewis joined the Organic Trade Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C., as senior crops and livestock specialist.

Lewis will be based in Galvin, Wash., and will work for the Trade Association’s Farmers Advisory Council, helping to grow and expand the Advisory Council, maximize its impact, and pursue strategic alliances. Lewis will also serve as lead technical expert on issues related to crops and livestock input materials and residue testing in organic standards.

Lewis has experience in all aspects of organic certification and in periodic residue sampling programs. In addition, Lewis has hands-on experience with organic production, managing a small-scale certified organic diversified livestock operation in Washington.

Lewis most recently served as organic certification coordinator for the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s organic program.
