Greenhouse grower Aqua Gardens Family Farm Inc., which offers an organic living lettuce product that’s five weeks from seed to market, plans to take the company public.
The product, Living Gourmet Bouquet, is a lettuce mix developed over the past two and a half years. It has up to five different types of lettuce grown from the same head.
Aqua Gardens Family Farm is a Florida corporation founded in 2011 by Jed Davis and David Buckley, with farming operations in Potter Valley, Calif.
“Our aquaponic farming system uses substantially less water than traditional farming,” Davis, chief executive officer, said in a news release. “During times of drought we hope to be an alternative to traditional farming.”
The organic grower plans to solicit investors for its shares under Securities and Exchange Commission rule 506(c). Under the provision, an investor must have an earned income above $200,000 for the last two years or net worth of more than $1 million.
“To continue our growth we are offering our common shares to select investors who can pass our accredited investors verification procedures,” Davis said.
The Living Gourmet Bouquet has a shelf life of up to two weeks, according to the company. Aqua Gardens has individual heads of lettuce and micro greens under development.
