The U.S. Department of Agriculture filed an administrative action against Fresh World One Inc. and stripped three produce companies of their licenses under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
The USDA cited Fresh World One, Springfield, Va., for reportedly failing to pay to 10 sellers a total of $328,497 for produce bought between September 2008 and November 2010.
Fresh World One will be able to request a hearing.
The USDA also sanctioned:
- G&S Melons LLC, Dover, Fla., for allegedly failing to pay $33,955 to a Michigan seller. The responsibly connected individual is John Grizzaffe.
- Dave’s Direct LLC, Washington, Utah, for reportedly failing to pay $20,830 to an Arizona seller. The responsibly connected individual is Daniel Webster.
- Cut Fresh Produce Inc., Sioux City, Iowa, for allegedly failing to pay $4,068 award to a California seller. The responsibly connected officer is Harry Cutler.
