The Produce for Better Health Foundation is recognizing three retail dietitians as its “Guiding Stars” for their support of the Fruits & Veggies — More Matters campaign.
This year’s winners are Alyson Dykstra of Oklahoma City–based Homeland Stores, a part Kansas City, Kan.-based Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc., and Marilyn Mills and Allison Stowell of Brussels-based Delhaize’s Hannaford Bros. Co., of Scarborough, Maine.
The winners were chosen for scoring three of the five award criteria for their ambassadorship to their community, according to a news release.
Those criteria include directly involving their shoppers in making healthy food choices, making nutrition a top priority and helping make their supermarkets community hubs for health and wellness information and education, according to the release.
The Hockessin, Del.-based PBH relies on ambassador volunteers who remain passionate about PBH’s mission and national health campaign.
