ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Produce Marketing Association Foundation plans to have the first conference in the produce industry geared specifically toward women’s leadership.
At the close of the Women’s Fresh Perspective Leadership Breakfast on Oct. 26, Margi Prueitt, executive director for the Newark, Del.-based PMA Foundation for Industry Talent, revealed details about the foundation’s inaugural Women’s Fresh Perspective Conference.
The conference is scheduled for April 21-23 in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the FireSky Resort.
Prueitt said the three-day program will include pre-conference sessions and an opening reception on the first day, a full day of educational sessions on the second, and about a half day of educational sessions on the third. The foundation is working with the Simmons School of Management for content.
“This is a gutsy move by the foundation to take on a women’s leadership conference like this,” Prueitt said.
Prueitt said the foundation plans to have about 150 attendees in its first year, an attendance figure Prueitt said she believes will be filled easily.
