More than 18,000 pounds of produce was donated after the Monterey, Calif., Produce Marketing Association Foodservice Conference & Exposition, on July 31.

Trucks from The Food Bank for Monterey County assembled and loaded the produce, delivering it to agencies and programs in the county, according to PMA’s news release.

The food bank’s executive director, Leslie Sunny, said in the release that it had picked up produce from the show for 14 years.

The food bank is one of the more than 200 Feeding America, Chicago, food banks.

PMA’s Fresh Summit donates produce each year also. It donated 266,000 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers last October to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
