PMA’s Women’s Fresh Perspectives, leaders programs set

Produce Marketing AssociationThe Produce Marketing Association’s Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference is set for late April.

With attendance of about 250 expected, the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference will meet April 27-29 in Phoenix, Ariz., according to a news release from the Newark, Del.-based PMA.

The PMA Foundation will partner with the Simmons School of Management for programming at the event. Topics covered will include negotiation skills, leadership lessons and work-life balance, according to the release.

Jackie Caplan Wiggins, vice president and chief operating officer for Frieda’s Inc., Los Alamitos, Calif., said in the release that the conference is valuable and appropriate for all women in the produce industry.

The sold-out PMA Foundation Emerging Leaders Program is slated for April 6-10 in Glendale, Ariz. That event will be attended by 36 young industry professionals in conjunction with the Thunderbird School of Global Management, according to the release. The program, now in its fourth year, includes a business module simulation and crisis management preparedness. The program will continue throughout the year and culminate at PMA’s Fresh Summit in Anaheim, Calif., according to the release.
