All are part of its Home-Toters line.
The seasonal bags, marked “Healthy Holidays,” are single-handled and imprinted with gift tags. There are three graphic options: locally grown, apple slices and citrus slices. Each holds 5 to 7 pounds of produce.
Orders placed by Nov. 2 are expected to be delivered by Dec. 3.
The totes, holiday versions of bags available year-round, are made from kraft paper. They’re certified compostable.
The other bags, marked “Locally Grown,” come in two smaller sizes: midget for 1 to 2 pounds, and junior for 2 to 3 pounds. The pinch-bottom base sits flat when filled. Both have a quad-fold, single-strap handle.
The bags can be used for a wide range of products, including tomatoes on the vine, sugar snap peas, green beans, stone fruit, onions, fingerling potatoes and grapes.
The company also offers bags designed for 4- to 10-pounds of produce.
“This line addresses the growing market demand for local produce by helping growers and grocers attractively identify and promote produce from their immediate area,” Robert Degnan, PCI president, said in the release. “Our bags have been field-tested for over 60 years by growers and grocers alike, and we are pleased to offer this new line expansion as a means of answering their needs and those of their customers wanting to easily distinguish produce grown close to home.”
The bags can be customized with a slug-in logo, quick-response code, product lookup number or other branding.
All the new totes and bags are scheduled to appear in the new product showcase at Fresh Summit 2012 on Oct. 26-28 in Anaheim,Calif.
