The United Fresh Produce Association honored Paramount Citrus as the Produce Industry Advocate of the Year.
Paramount was honored for its support of the association and service on several of United’s boards and councils, according to a United Fresh news release,.
“Paramount Citrus has been a leader in the public policy arena at United for many years,” said Tom Stenzel, president and CEO of the United Fresh. “Their consistent support ... demonstrates the commitment of Paramount Citrus and their partners in the Roll Corporation for advancing produce industry priorities here in Washington, DC.”
Along with sitting on the association’s board of directors. Paramount has been a major supporter of United’s Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools effort, which donates salad bars to schools nationwide in an attempt to increase childrens’ fresh fruit and vegetable consumption.
The company is also a regular sponsor of The Washington Conference, where Industry Advocate of the Year awards are announced.
