Lane Packing Co., the packing-shipping arm of Fort Valley, Ga.-based peach grower Lane Southern Orchards, has chosen the HarvestMark platform to meet Produce Traceability Initiative needs, according to a news release.

HarvestMark is a product of Yottamark Inc., Redwood City, Calif.

“For more than 100 years, we’ve prided ourselves on delivering only the highest-quality produce to our customers,” Duke Lane III, vice president of Lane Southern Orchards, said in the release. “We selected HarvestMark, because it offers us a simple, cost-effective solution to achieve PTI compliance. In addition, HarvestMark provides us with a wealth of information about our cases of products as they move throughout the supply chain, allowing us to monitor and ensure our quality standards are consistently met.”

The HarvestMark platform provides packers and shippers the tools to print PTI compliant case labels on-demand or in advance for use at various sites, according to the release. Each label is printed with a unique HarvestMark code that can be traced online or scanned with a smartphone running the HarvestMark app.
