In the post of executive vice president of operations, Hope will report directly to George Holm, president and CEO of the Richmond, Va.-based company, according to a news release.
Primary responsibilities for the new position also include procurement and oversight of the company’s internal initiative to strengthen operational best practices, according to the release.
Hope worked for Sysco Corp., for 26 years before joining Performance Food Group. During that time he was corporate financial analyst and was named president and CEO in 2000. Most recently he was executive vice president of business transformation at Sysco in 2010.
His work at Sysco and service as a board trustee of the National Restaurant Association are key assets Hope brings to his position at Performance Food Group, which supplies more than 160,000 restaurants, theaters, schools, hotels, health care institutions and other institutions, according to the release.
