The 2013/2014 Category Management Plan Outline for Fresh Peruvian Asparagus includes statistics relating to market summaries, trends, nutritional facts and consumer positioning, according to an association news release.
The plan provides fresh-market asparagus consumption key demographics, suggestions on displays, and promotional and advertising ideas to help retailers boost sales, Priscilla Lleras, the association’s coordinator, said in the release.
“We promote the Category Management Plan Outline for Fresh Peruvian Asparagus with the goal of providing statistics, trends and strategies that will equip retailers and the industry at large to sell more asparagus,” she said. “The outline contains the necessary summary information of the health benefits, value and convenience of fresh Peruvian asparagus.”
In 2013, the association will focus more on reaching out to the produce industry trade press, supermarkets and consumers on the benefits of fresh asparagus, Lleras said.
