Pete Pappas & Sons Inc. has moved to a renovated 120,000-square foot facility in Jessup, Md., allowing the company to expand product categories beyond its core lines of tomatoes and berries.

Added packing lines are expected to enable increased output. The renovation included 10,000 square feet of new offices and employee accommodations; installation of floor drains and epoxy flooring throughout the coolers and production room; new dock doors and seals; a repaved parking lot; and a new roof.

Pete Pappas & Sons has a Global Food Safety Initiative certification.

The address in Jessup is 7825A Rappahannock Ave., Unit 1.

“This modern facility represents our commitment to our trading partners, our employees and the industry,” chief executive officer Pete Pappas said in a news release.

Pete Pappas & Sons started marketing tomatoes in 1942. They pack under the Patricia label and provide private labeling. The company branched into the berry category in the 1990s and distributes in the mid-Atlantic.
