There’s a new tenant at the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market.
Philly Produce LLC takes over units H6 and H7, stalls formerly operated by Klayman Produce Co. Inc., which closed in March.
Staffed by longtime Klayman salesmen Jim Canterino and Jose “Blue” Flores, Philly Produce distributes a full line of fruits and vegetables, tropicals and fresh-cut product. It opened Aug. 27.
Parent company Wuhl Shafman Lieberman will supply fresh-cut products to Philly Produce through its Fresh Cut Produce LLC.
“We are thrilled to have Philly Produce become part of our market,” Sonny DiCrecchio, the market’s president and chief executive officer, said in a news release.
“Jim and Blue are well-respected, possess a lot of experience and add a great deal to our market’s already-competitive nature. We welcome them and wish Philly Produce a long and fruitful future here.”
Klayman made the move from the city’s older market to new operations which opened in June 2011.
