The company hopes to spread the idea to consumers that Pink Lady apples aren’t just good for a snack, but can be used in main dishes and desserts as well, according to a news release.
Pink Lady America also wants to educate consumers on the health benefits of the apple.
The company will partner with marketers and shippers to help spread the word about the expanded social media opportunities, according to the release.
“We need the code and other contact information on point-of-sale materials and those other avenues reaching consumers,” Ann Taylor, marketing director, said in the release. “And it will also be advantageous to those in the industry to help us in accomplishing this objective.”
