Potandon Produce LLC, Idaho Falls, Idaho, announced a marketing campaign about breast cancer awareness.

The Sept. 15-Oct. 31 campaign centers around two of its proprietary varieties, according to a news release: klondike rose and klondike goldust, which will be in special pink packaging.

For every potato package bought, Potandon plans to donate money to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc., Frisco, Texas, and also for every new consumer account established at klondikebrands.com.

The company plans two-pronged communications. It plans to place ads in a variety of trade publications and breast cancer awareness will be one of the company’s themes at its booth at the the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.

Potandon is also planning an “e-marketing blitz to consumers,” according to the release, including targeted e-mails, tweets, and Facebook posts.
