Box Tops appear on all package sizes.
“Being able to offer healthy potatoes and also give back to schools makes this program advantageous to everyone,” Dick Thomas, vice president of sales for Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Potandon Produce, said in a news release.
Shipments began in July.
Since 1996, classrooms from kindergarten through eighth grade have received more than $475 million through the Box Tops for Education program.
Potandon Produce holds exclusive licensing rights to the Green Giant Fresh brand for fresh potatoes and onions.
Box Tops also appear on other fresh produce packaging, including sweet potatoes, corn, blueberries, oranges, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, romaine hearts, and iceberg lettuce.
