Produce Pro Software is launching a food safety app that tracks and stores corrective action paperwork and assignment progress as well as recording signatures.

Quality control staff at DiMare Fresh Inc., a client, tested the app and provided suggestions for adjustments and improvements.

The app aims to reduce both missed tasks — visible from a glance at daily reports or mobile devices — and paperwork. It can print reports specific to an auditor’s request.

Managers can see assigned tasks and manage them across users. They can also see and be notified of corrective action items and sign off on tasks anywhere.

“Many Produce Pro customers have an army of (quality control) people in their facility, and with the food safety app they will be armed to efficiently do their jobs,” Dave Donat, Produce Pro president, said in a news release.

The app is integrated with Woodridge, Ill.-based Produce Pro’s enterprise resource planning package.
