Produce For KidsProduce for Kids raised more than $190,000 to support health and wellness projects in participating retail partners’ schools and local communities.

During its “Healthy Families, Helping Kids” fall campaign, the Orlando, Fla.-based organization worked with Acme Markets Inc., Malvern, Pa., Meijer Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich., and Publix Super Markets Inc., Lakeland, Fla., and more than 20 fruit and vegetable suppliers.

The second yearly campaign generated funds for DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that helps school teachers and supports health and wellness classroom projects within participating retailers’ markets.

Public donations made to the site over the coming months match the retailers’ contributions, according to a news release.
