The global avocado packer-shipper has promoted Ron Araiza to vice president of sales. Araiza has worked at Mission as director of sales for 17 years. Araiza manages 20 domestic and international sales representatives that source, manage and sell into avocado markets including North America, South America, Asia and Europe. Araiza has helped oversee the development and growth of the company by implementing a national ripe program. Araiza also serves as an alternate board member on the California Avocado Commission, Irvine. Before joining Mission in 1997, Araiza practiced law in the California area for more than 12 years.
Mission has also promoted Jake Nixon to vice president of engineering and process improvement. Nixon was hired in 2007 as Mission’s process improvement and project manager and has provided his expertise in facility expansions, cost reductions and safety programs, according to a news release.
NixonJoining Mission as a new hire is Agustin Lacayo who fills the role of vice president of packing operations for the company’s facilities in California, Mexico and Peru. Lacayo has previously was a post-harvest technician and manager at Paramount Citrus Association. Lacayo has also worked as the director of citrus packing operations and was promoted to general manager of production and inventory. He was later promoted to senior director of the company’s Texas division.
Mission has operations in Mexico, Peru, Chile, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
