Publication honors Earthbound Farm, Organic Girl

Courtesy Earthbound FarmThese frozen organic cherries were one of three Earthbound Farm products honored in Prevention's 100 Cleanest Packaged Foods Awards. Organic Girl was also a winner.Earthbound Farm and Organic Girl products are among the winners of the 100 Cleanest Packaged Foods Awards named by Prevention.com.

Qualifying products are free of genetically modified organisms and have less than 10 grams of added sugar and less than 200 milligrams of sodium per serving, or 400 for a meal. Additional criteria applied to canned and seafood products.

San Juan Bautista, Calif.-based Earthbound Farm is honored for two frozen organic products, its dark sweet cherries and its kale. The grower-shipper’s fresh mixed baby kales, also organic, were recognized as well.

Organic Girl was honored for its fresh herbs and greens. The blend includes organic baby bok choy, baby chard, tango, baby arugula, mizuna, cilantro and sweet Italian parsley. Organic Girl is owned by NewStar Fresh Foods LLC, Salinas, Calif.

I LOVE these two brands and all of their products, I only hope they will be available at more stores in the future with greater variety.
