Completion is expected by August 2014, adding an estimated 120,000 pounds weekly to current production and creating 16 new jobs, according to a news release.
Demand for the branded Juno Bites and Luna Sweets, as well as romas, and tomatoes-on-the-vine drove the project. The additional acreage will also provide for new fruit, including cluster tomatoes.
The new greenhouses will extend the growing season, which has typically ended by November, into January.
