Pure Hot House Foods Inc. recently sponsored a triathlon to encourage healthy eating.
On June 15, the Leamington, Ontario, company co-sponsored the Leamington Triathlon Weekend.
The event included a “Kids of Steel” race and a “Tomatoman” competition.
The sponsorship is an extension of the greenhouse grower-shipper’s support of better living and healthy eating for America’s children, according to a news release.
Staying active is a key part of better living, according to the release. Supported with healthy eating, it and helps build healthy bodies, which is important for maintaining a healthy body weight.
“We truly believe in the importance of active living,” Jamie Moracci, Pure Hot House Foods’ president, said in the release. “It starts in the early years by providing fun activities and encouragement to increase physical activity levels which will impact their lifestyle patterns and habits in their adult life.”
Pure Hot House Foods, which markets under its Pure Flavor brand, points consumers to government websites that provide tips and guidelines on how people can help improve awareness of healthy eating among children.
