A San Francisco-based organic tree fruit marketer expects its first arrivals of organic Peruvian avocados in the third week of June.
Purity Organic Produce anticipates a steady supply of organic Peruvian avocados for three months, according to a company news release.
Purity plans to market both bulk fruit in all sizes and bagged fruit.
Due to good quality and rapidly dwindling organic avocado supplies from Mexico, movement should be brisk, Steve Akagaki, Purity’s director of sales and marketing, said in the release.
“We are very excited to be the first importer of Peruvian organic avocados this season, and are already experiencing strong demand,” he said. “The Peruvian quality is there with very good oil content, so we expect sales to be brisk.”
