Close to 300 golfers took to the links at the Parcours du Cerg golf club in Longueuil on July 19.
At the end of the day, QPMA presented a $5,000 check to Leucan, an organization that gives hope to children with cancer and their families.
Tournament chairman Dino Farrese of Bellemont Powell said the day combined business and pleasure through networking. Players were divided between two courses, and tasting booths were set up during the day for sampling.
When play was cut short because of rain, the good sports gathered for a cocktail reception and barbecue supper.
Founded in 1947, QPMA comprises about 500 businesses from all levels of the food distribution chain.
Richard Morency, a Canadian management consultant, hosted the event’s annual dinner, which attracted 350 people, according to the release.
The association’s 56th tournament is set for July 2014, according to the release.
