RPE Inc. has become the exclusive marketer of Frenchman Valley Produce Inc. fresh potatoes under a new partnership.
Imperial, Neb.-based Frenchman Valley Produce grows and ships russets seasonally in Kansas and Nebraska for the fresh and processed markets. Frenchman Valley’s Imperial potato packaging facility runs mid-July through the end of December. The company ships 2.5 million 50-pound cases of fresh potatoes annually, according to a news release.
RPE’s Blackfoot, Idaho, office will be the main sales site for Frenchman Valley potatoes. Clay Gustaveson, director of foodservice sales, is overseeing the transition for Bancroft, Wis.-based RPE. RPE account managers Tron Crumley and Sue Rodriquez are the primary sales staff.
Tim May, owner and president of Frenchman Valley, and two of his sons, Taylor and Mathew, will continue running the operation.
The move targets a larger sales base for Frenchman Valley.
“We’ve had a longstanding, good working relationship with RPE,” Tim May said in the release. “It made sense that this partnership with RPE is the direction we went in, since we’ve worked so closely for years.”
“We are looking forward to using our category leadership to share more options with both our customers and Frenchman Valley,” Russell Wysocki, RPE president and chief executive officer, said in the release.
