Radicchio gains superfood certification

The Salinas, Calif.-based Royal Rose Radicchio is certified as a superfood by SCS Global Services, Emeryville, Calif.

The vegetable joins spinach, blueberries, broccoli, green tea and pomegranates with one of produce’s health certifications.

Foods are certified as superfoods when they meet or exceed exceptional levels of bioflavonoids.

A lab tested and evaluated Royal Rose Radicchio from several ranches and seed variations.

SCS Global Services is third-party certification provider with various testing services.
