Rainier Fruit Co.’s wellness program has been verified by a third-party firm.
SureHarvest, a sustainability solutions specialist, assessed how well Selah, Wash.-based Rainier provides for the health and well-being of its employees, according to a company news release.
Rainier’s offerings in those areas include an annual wellness day, on-site medical clinic, safety scorecards and observation program, employee walking path, low-cost and healthy food options at on-site cafeterias, a company-matched 401(k) plan, paid vacation and personal leave, retirement consulting and other resources for financial wellbeing.
In one finding, SureHarvest estimated that Rainier potentially saved more than 900 work days in one year thanks to its voluntary flu shot program.
“We look forward to improving our employee programs and increasing community involvement,” Suzanne Wolter, Rainier’s marketing director, said in the release. “It’s a continuous process, and we are excited for the challenge.”
