Raley’s joins Take a Stand promotion

click image to zoomsunkist take a standSunkist plans to donate 25 cents per 2-pound bag of lemons sold at Raley's Family of Fine Stores through Labor Day. This summer, Raley’s Family of Fine Stores, Edge Sales & Marketing and Sunkist Growers are partnering to raise money for Food For Families through Sunkist’s Take A Stand promotions.

Specially marked Take A Stand lemon displays are set up in the West Sacramento, Calif.-based retailer’s departments through Labor Day. Sunkist plans to donate 25 cents per 2-pound bag of lemons sold during the promotion period to Food For Families, up to $10,000.

Customers also can order their own Take A Stand lemonade stand using a smartphone or text code found in the produce department. Participants can choose their own cause to send proceeds.

“The Take A Stand program provides a fun, creative and educational way for children to learn the importance of giving back to their community,” said Julie DeWolf, Sunkist’s director of retail marketing, in a news release. “We’re pleased to bring this program to Raley’s customers and look forward to helping families squeeze some fresh inspiration into their summer fun.”
