Ramadan began June 29, as did the second annual Del Monte Ramadan Cooking Challenge. Twitter users can go to #DelMonteArabia.
Social media followers can enter by sending photos of their Ramadan recipes using Del Monte products to qualify in weekly drawings. Prizes are Philips Avance Collection juicers and Del Monte product hampers, according to a news release.
At the end of the contest, the recipe judged most creative will also win a premium Philips juicer.
The competition is open to over 136,000 Facebook fans of Del Monte Arabia. Advertising is expected to reach a wider audience in Middle East and North Africa.
“At Del Monte, we want to encourage consumers to adopt healthy eating habits during Ramadan,” Virginie de Beco, regional marketing director, said in the release.
Ramadan is a traditional month of fasting.
