Salad Savoy Corp., is increasing marketing of its trademarked Lollipops kale sprouts.
The product is a cross between red kale and brussels sprouts. The Salinas, Calif.-based grower-shipper is working with Mr. Food’s test kitchen to promote the Lollipops through Howard Rosenthal, aka Mr. Food, the spokesperson for Salad Savoy’s product line, according to a news release.
“Lollipops fit right in with our philosophy of color, taste and nutrition, and we are so happy to be able to make this incredible vegetable available to chefs, home cooks and others through distributors and at retail,” John Moore, Salad Savoy’s president, said in the release.
Two ounces of Lollipops have twice as much Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C than standard brussels sprouts. Salad Savoy is promoting the product as a nutritional powerhouse, according to the release.
Salad Savoy introduced the product at the April 21 “Bite, A Tasty State of Mind” food show in Manhattan sponsored by New York-based Baldor Specialty Foods Inc.
