Muzzi Family Farms has named Paul Mocettini vice president of sales and marketing.
Mocettini, who had the same title at Ippolito International for five years, started April 21. It’s one of two recently added positions at Salinas, Calif.-based Muzzi Family Farms. Bill Stafford was hired as national director of sales in December.
Mocettini has worked more than 25 years in the Salinas vegetable industry. He started his career with Bruce Church, Inc., where he was part of the sales group that launched the Fresh Express salad line. He also spent 10 years with Growers Express and helped launch the Green Giant Fresh program, according to a news release.
Mocettini will manage the sales staff and develop new business.
Stafford works mainly on club store and retail business.
He was previously at River Ranch Fresh Foods and Taylor Farms, where he was director of club sales for more than nine years. He’s a 45-year veteran of the produce business.
“Both Paul and Bill are in newly created positions and my family looks forward to working with them as our company grows into the future,” Dominic Muzzi, partner in Muzzi Family Farms, said in the release.
In March 2013, vegetable processor and shipper Watsonville Produce Inc. announced the formation of Muzzi Family Farms to handle sales of fresh and frozen vegetables. Muzzi sells fresh leafy greens including spinach, arugula, kale and spring mix; plus individually quick frozen conventional and organic spinach, kale, swiss chard and conventional bell peppers and brussels sprouts.
