Produce industry veteran Albert Ramirez has joined New Limeco LLC as director of sales.

Ramirez started in August at the Princeton, Fla.-based grower-shipper, packer and importer of domestic and Latin American fruits and vegetables and has more than 25 years of experience, according to a news release.

Born in Cuba, Ramirez came to the U.S., as a child in 1962 and grew up in New York.

After college, he worked in the family’s a grocery wholesale business in Chicago and Miami and later was an inside sales coordinator for Fleming Foods International’s Latin America and Caribbean regions.

Ramirez was a senior sales representative for Homestead, Fla.-based Brooks Tropicals LLC and director of sales for Miami-based Bounty Fresh Produce Corp.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our New Limeco team and we are excited to have him here,” New Limeco officials said in the release. “His managing and sales philosophy is simple: ‘I treat my clients and growers as family and friends with respect, integrity and transparency’.”

Ramirez and his wife are grandparents to two.

New Limeco grows and ships avocados, papayas, limes and root vegetables as well as south Florida tropicals.
