Mark Borman was inaugurated as the chairman of the board of the Salinas, Calif.-based Grower-Shipper Association of Central California.
The association’s new board members began 1-year-terms at its annual meeting, May 23.
Borman is president of Taylor Farms California, responsible for West Coast agricultural operations and the company’s source-based foodservice program, according to a news release.
Borman’s predecessor, Taylor Farms vice president of community development Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin, recapped the association’s accomplishments at the meeting. That includes establishing the association foundation’s More Produce in Schools program, which activities backs the school salad bar initiative of the United Fresh Foundation.
Ernie Farley of Andrew & Williamson is the vice chairman for 2013-14. Tom Nunes of The Nunes Co. is treasurer, according to the release.

Andy D’Arrigo, Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin’s father, received the association’s annual E.E. “Gene” Harden Award, given to a person for lifetime achievement in central coast agriculture.
