Earl Herrick, owner of Earl’s Organic Produce said the tour was part of the training seminar called “Passion Purpose & Produce” and hosted by industry veterans and media personalities
Mark Mulcahy, Helge Hellberg, and Sitarani Palomar of the weekly radio show “An Organic Conversation.”
Herrick is a regular participant in the weekly radio show and also was part of the programming for the “Passion Purpose & Produce” agenda, he said.
The seminar, conducted at the Holiday Inn in Mill Valley near San Francisco the week of Aug. 11, offered the opportunity for organic marketers to share the passion they have for the sector and share idea for improving employee and sales performance.
“My part of it was doing a tour of my facility, but also being a part of the seminar itself,” he said.
The tour and lunch at Earl Organics lasted several hours and included sharing by the staff of the company with the seminar participants. The tour also included a taste test of locally grown organic melons.
The seminar, drawing about 22 attendees, was a great chance to get to know other organic professionals from all over the U.S. and exchange ideas, Herrick said.
The seminar challenged participants to think what would take organic sales to the “next level” and strategies to enhance cooperation within organizations.
