Shuman Produce has donated $20,000 to breast cancer research and, for the second year, will pack onions in pink bags in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The donation will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a national breast cancer awareness campaign, according to a news release from Reidsville, Ga.-based Shuman.

Newly designed consumer bags, bins, 40-pound cartons and Price-Lookup stickers will bear the pink ribbon and colors associated with breast cancer awareness. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The bags also will have QR codes that will direct consumers to more information about the Komen campaign. Shuman also will affix stickers to bags during the campaign to encourage consumers to visit the company’s Facebook page.
