Silliker Inc., Chicago, Ill., hired Jim Miller as president of North American operations. The food testing company, a subsidiary of Mérieux NutriSciences, operates in 20 laboratories across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
“Continuing to grow our leadership in North America, Jim brings to Silliker a vast understanding of sales, marketing and product management from within the food industry itself,” president and chief executive officer Philippe Sanssaid in a news release.
Previously, Miller worked for Tate and Lyle, a provider of ingredients to food and beverage industries for 22 years. He was vice president of global product management of specialty food ingredients before joining Silliker. There, he managed Tate and Lyle’s specialty food starch business. Miller graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics.
